Roses

🌸🌸

The Bike rolled steadily through the fresh morning air

The roads were already beginning to fill with office-goers, students, school buses, and impatient honking vehicles

Shivangi quietly sat behind him, her fingers still resting around his waist exactly where he had placed them

The nervousness from earlier had slowly faded

Instead...

A strange sense of comfort settled between them

Advay smiled to himself, without turning around, he asked"Ab bhi darr lag raha hai?"

A tiny voice came from behind

"...Nahi"

A few minutes later...

The traffic ahead suddenly slowed

Then completely stopped

Cars

Autos

Buses

Everything stood still

Advay sighed

So much traffic..."

Shivangi looked around

He switched off the engine

"Ab thodi der wait karna padega"

Around them, street vendors immediately started walking between the rows of vehicles

Someone sold water bottles

Someone offered newspapers

Another man carried toys that danced with every step

Then...

A soft voice came from beside them

"Bhaiya..."

Advay turned

A young woman stood there a little baby rested peacefully in one arm while the other held a bunch of fresh red roses

The child couldn't have been more than a year old

The woman smiled politely

"Bhaiya... ek gulab le lijiye na..."

Then her eyes shifted toward Shivangi a teasing smile spread across her face

"Bhabhi ke liye"

Shivangi's eyes widened her cheeks instantly turned pink beneath the helmet

She lowered her gaze

The corners of his lips lifted without correcting the woman...

He simply asked

"Kitne hain saare?"

The lady looked surprised

"Ji?"

"Saare milake kitne roses hain?"

She blinked twice before quickly counting them"Pandrah hain... Bhaiya"

"Theek hai"

He took out his wallet and handed her the money"Sare de dijiye"

The woman's face lit up

"Bhagwan aap dono ko hamesha khush rakhe"

She carefully handed him the entire bouquet

Advay accepted it...

Then turned slightly without saying a word...

He held the bouquet toward Shivangi

She looked at the roses...

Then at him

"Enki bhabhi Ji, Phool le lijiye" he said teasingly

A shy smile appeared on her face as she accepted them carefully

The tiny baby suddenly giggled

Shivangi's attention shifted immediately

Her eyes softened

She separated two roses from the bouquet and held the remaining flowers back toward the woman"Ye... aap rakh lijiye"

The woman looked confused.

"Nahi didi, paise toh mil gaye..."

Shivangi smiled gently

"Pata hai, lekin etne phoolo ka main kya karungi, aap enhe kisi aur ko bech dijiyega"

The woman stared at her for a moment before smiling with moist eyes"Bhagwan aapko bohot khush rakhe bhabhi"

Shivangi smiled back

Then she leaned slightly toward the baby

The little child looked at her with curious eyes.

"So cute..."

She gently caressed the baby's tiny cheeks with one finger

The baby immediately caught her finger with its little hand and laughed

A soft laugh escaped Shivangi's lips

Advay watched everything silently

As She gently tickled the baby's tiny chin, the little one burst into another fit of giggles

"Hello baby!..." she said softly, her eyes sparkling with delight

The baby reached out with both tiny hands toward her face

Shivangi laughed and carefully let the child hold her finger

She brushed a stray curl away from the baby's forehead with unbelievable tenderness

The child immediately leaned into her touch

The young mother smiled warmly

"Lagta hai esko bhabhi ji pasand aa gayi"

His eyes remained fixed on Shivangi

Without realizing it...

For the briefest moment, his imagination wandered

He pictured a tiny version of them with curious eyes wrapped in Shivangi's arms

She was smiling just like she was now, patiently calming the little one, kissing their forehead when they cried, laughing as tiny fingers clung to hers

And beside them...

He imagined himself crouching on the floor, trying to make the baby laugh while Shivangi watched with that same soft smile.

A warmth spread through his chest before he caught himself.

Bas...

Control, Advay

"Poori zindagi ki film yahi bana lega kya"

A helpless smile escaped him

Shivangi looked up just then and noticed him staring"Kya hua?"

He blinked, immediately returning to the present"Kuch nahi"

She narrowed her eyes suspiciously

"Aap muskura kyun rahe hain?"

He shook his head with a grin

"Bas... aise hi"

The traffic ahead began moving.

Cars rolled forward one after another

The young mother adjusted the baby in her arms and smiled gratefully

Shivangi smiled and waved

He simply started the motorcycle again, carrying with him the quiet image of Shivangi's gentle smile-one that lingered in his heart long after the traffic had cleared

He felt a tiny tug near his chest

"Hmm?"

He glanced down

Shivangi had quietly plucked one rose from the bouquet

Without asking...

She carefully tucked it into the breast pocket of his shirt

Her fingers brushed lightly against the fabric

She whispered

"Unke bhaiya ji ke liye phool"

Advay looked down at the rose then laughed softly

She carefully held her single rose close

The breeze carried its faint fragrance between them

Advay started moving with the flow of traffic once again

This time...

Her grip around his waist came naturally

The university gates slowly came into view.

Students streamed in from every direction-some walking with backpacks slung over one shoulder, others laughing with friends, while a few hurried toward their morning lectures

As they neared the entrance, Shivangi spoke hesitantly

"Advay...Mujhe yahin utaar dijiye please"

Without saying anything, he simply continued riding through the gate

She looked at him

"Advay...Please Rok dijiye na"

He pretended not to hear

"Aap sun rahe hain na?"

"Hmm"

"Toh... rokiye"

"No"

She blinked

"No?"

Before she could protest again...

The motorcycle entered the university parking area

He parked neatly in his usual spot and switched off the engine

Shivangi slowly removed her helmet.

Almost immediately...

Dozens of eyes turned toward them, students walking nearby slowed down

Whispers began spreading across the parking lot

---------------

A group of girls standing near the commerce block exchanged surprised looks

One of them whispered"Itne dino baad Advay university aaya.....aur aaya bhi toh dekho kiske saath"

Another girl's eyes widened

"Rupali ko is baare mein pata chala toh.....vo kya karegi, Bhagwan jaane"

A third girl lowered her voice

"Tumhe Anamika yaad hai?....

One girl nodded slowly

"Haan...Jisne bas Advay ke pass bethne ki koshis ki thi"

Another spoke with visible discomfort

"Rupali ke dosto ne usko kitna bully kiya tha...Kisi ne uski edited photos viral kar di thi..."

The girls exchanged uneasy glances

One of them whispered

"Last mai bichari ne Suicide kar liya"

" Fir kya hua" a girl asked

Another girl looked around before speaking even more quietly" Fir Aur chah kar bhi Anamika ke papa kuch nahi kar paaye...Kyunki Rupali ke papa ek powerful Politician hain

"I heard..."

She hesitated"...that the family was pressured to stay silent, People said money was offered, and they were warned not to pursue the matter any further"

Another girl frowned"us incident ke baad kisi ki himmat nahi hui Rupali ke against khade hone ki"

Everyone fell silent

The memory still haunted many students.

Whether every rumor was true or not...

Unaware of the whispers surrounding them...

Advay got off the motorcycle and took off his helmet

He looked at Shivangi

"Chaliye"

She noticed several students staring in their direction and instinctively tightened her grip on her bag"...Sab dekh rahe hain"

He glanced around once then looked back at her with complete calm"Shivangi...Jo sach hai use kabhi chupaya nhi ja sakta"

Without another word...

He held her wrist and started walking toward the academic building beside her

And behind them...

The whispers only grew louder

The corridors buzzed with conversations as students hurried toward their classrooms

Advay walked beside Shivangi at an unhurried pace

She could still feel curious gazes following them the moment they entered the classroom...

Two pairs of eyes immediately lit up

Priyanshi and Mehul

Her closest friends

The two exchanged one look before turning toward Shivangi with identical mischievous smiles

Without wasting another second, she quietly stepped away from Advay and hurried toward the row behind them.

She placed her bag on the desk and sat down as naturally as possible

Mehul grinned

"Dekho toh kaun aaya hai"

Priyanshi rested her chin on her hand dramatically"...Aur kaise aaya hai"

Shivangi instantly understood her cheeks warmed

Priyanshi twisted around in her seat

" So Madam jii, Kesi rhi Shadi....Kahin Usne chupke se tumhari he mang mai sindoor toh nhi bhar diya"

Shivangi looked away

" Shut up"

Priyanshi laughed" Vese suna hai aaj koi Bike se aaya hai..."

Mehul nodded dramatically

"Koi sharma rha hai"

Shivangi covered her face for a second

"Tum dono na...chup ho jao"

Before she could defend herself-

A chair scraped beside her

She looked up

Advay had casually taken the empty seat next to hers"Good morning"

He smiled as though nothing unusual had happened

Shivangi blinked

"...Good morning"

Priyanshi looked at her....then gave her the widest teasing smirk imaginable

Shivangi wanted the floor to open beneath her

A few minutes later...the professor entered

"Good morning, class"

The lecture began

Pens moved

Books opened

The classroom gradually settled into silence

Halfway through the lecture-the classroom door opened.

Everyone instinctively turned

Rupali walked in

Perfectly dressed as always followed by her group

The professor stopped writing for a moment his expression clearly showed annoyance but he didn't say anything and, he resumed teaching

Rupali smiled confidently...

Until her eyes landed on the third row.

On Advay

And beside him...

Shivangi

The smile vanished her expression hardened, her fingers slowly curled into a fist around the strap of her handbag.

She simply walked toward her seat even after sitting down...

Her eyes never left them

A girl sitting behind her leaned forward and whispered something into her ear

No one else heard the words

But whatever she said...

Rupali's expression darkened further

The grip on her notebook tightened until her knuckles turned white

She looked at Shivangi again

Meanwhile...

Neither Advay nor Shivangi noticed

The professor continued explaining the topic on the board

Advay occasionally noted important points

Shivangi remained focused on the lecture

Completely unaware of the storm quietly building a few rows behind them.

An hour later...

The bell rang

"That's all for today"

The professor closed his register

"You'll receive the assignment details by evening"

The students began packing their bags

Within minutes, the classroom filled with chatter again

Priyanshi stood up first

"Chalein?"

"Hmm"Mehul slung his backpack over one shoulder

"Finally...Us muchad ka lecture khatam hua"

Shivangi laughed softly

Advay picked up his things from the desk

"Let's go"

The four of them walked out together toward the parking area

Behind them...

Rupali remained standing near the classroom door

Watching

Silently

Her eyes followed Shivangi until she disappeared into the crowd

One of her friends frowned

"Kya soch rahi hai?"

Rupali's lips slowly curved into a cold smile

"...Bas itna..."

She kept her gaze fixed on the corridor.

"...Ki meri cheezon par nazar daalne ki aadat logon ko bahut mehengi padti hai"

Her friends exchanged uneasy glances
